Keenan Johnston Came across this one by way of an old Navicon Torture Technologies interview- obscure early '90s industrial metal from NY. Solid production for a demo, and decent variety among the three songs. The mechanical drums, thick bass tone and dirgy guitars should be familiar to any fans of this era of industrial metal, while the heavily affected vocals throw something a little different into the mix. Favorite track: IDEAL CREATED WOMAN FUCK.

about

DRENCROM was an industrial metal band originally founded in 1990, consisting of Mark Calimbas (AKA Maliks) (ATLAS SHRUGGED, GMK/GHIDRAH) playing guitar, programming drums, and recording, BJ Allen (FULL SCALE RIOT, GMK/GHIDRAH) on bass, and Graham Udelsman on vocals.
The band often performed around Rockland county, New York, with Lee Bartow's first band, S.H.R.I.K.E.

They released three demo cassettes, first as TRI-HAZE CONTROL, and later as DRENCROM, in two versions. In 2001, ANNIHILVS produced a very short run of CD-Rs featuring material from both demos.

DRENCROM dissolved shortly after releasing their final, refined, demo cassette in 1992, presented here in newly remastered form, mixed straight from the original 4-track master tapes, found by Mark Calimbas in his brother's basement.

Mark and BJ eventually went on to form GMK/GHIDRAH, while Graham and Bartow worked together as OILROTSRUBBER, which became NULLANDVOID, N&V, NAV, eventually evolving into Bartow's project NAVICON TORTURE TECHNOLOGIES.
