  Fragile Body is the solo musical endeavour of photographer, filmmaker, and hook suspension practitioner Gretchen Heinel.
  "Unwell," her first-ever musical release, is an inward journey to the source of insecurities, fears, and longings; a stripping down of all pretense.
  It is a reflection of all that is ardent, imperfect, and overwhelmingly, essentially, human.
  
  The process of recording this EP throughout the plague years of 2021 and 2022 saw Gretchen teach herself the ins and outs of Ableton Live, and to play the frame drum and tagelharpa, as well as cello.
  These are seamlessly composited alongside digital instruments, analogue synthesis, and her own classically-trained voice.
  The total result defies categories, and belies its influences, yet still somehow calls to mind artists such as Dead Can Dance, Arcana, Amber Asylum, and Jarboe.
  
  The release was mixed and mastered by Neil Schneider (BLACKBRAID, MOSSGIVER, BEFOUL).
  
  For the album's beautiful artwork, Gretchen worked with Washington state-based photographer, model, and tattoo artist Rant Casey, collaborating to create a series of images that are as emotionally vulnerable as the music within.
