RETREAT, a new cassette by our longtime compatriot, FRAGMENT KING, will be released in 2021.A frequent collaborating member of NAVICON TORTURE TECHNOLOGIES, FRAGMENT KING (or FK) is the audio/performance alter ego of Bavarian-American sonic architect M. Kammerbauer. Extreme emotion and extreme absence of emotion are parts of a dichotomy of expression present in FK's work. At times highly confrontational and at times soothing, FK uses the widest possible range of instrumentation: from animal instinct to academic discourse, from guitars to computers, from the human body to the body of space.

FRAGMENT KING produced various vinyl, MC and CD-R/CD releases from 1997 to the present, in addition to remixes and compilation tracks, on MHz, ANNIHILVS, COCK ROCK DISCO, and his own label, NEXIALIST. FK has shared the stage with BAZOOKA, HERBST9, EDGEY, KLANGSTABIL, SYNAPSCAPE, Marcelo Aguire, and many more.

For the better part of 2007-2013, FRAGMENT KING worked with late pioneering industrial percussionist Z'EV within the collaborative project THE BÄND.

RETREAT is a new cassette by FRAGMENT KING, released in August 2021.

A contributing member of NAVICON TORTURE TECHNOLOGIES and co-producer of CRITICAL VOID, a site-specific sound project with pioneering industrial percussionist Z'EV, FRAGMENT KING (or FK) is the audio recording and performance alter ego of sonic architect Mark Kammerbauer.
Ever more soundtrack than song, FK's interpretation of heavy electronic music was originally inspired by the early incarnations of Autechre, Godflesh, and Scorn.

After recording the ANGEL POSITION album for ANT-ZEN affiliate MHz, the label of German electronic music luminaries KLANGSTABIL, FK returns with a new set of recordings titled RETREAT for ANNIHILVS.

RETREAT comprises six new pieces that draw from digital beats and sounds, treated vocals and site-specific bass guitar feedback and drone sounds, recorded in Munich/Germany between 2019 and 2021.

I cannot praise this album enough. This album is absolutely terrifying! The many starts and stops creates this very h settling tension. Each start expands on the stopper idea previously. It’s like the music equivalent of walking through thick fog while passing out multiple times throughout trying to find a place to orientate yourself. There may or may not be something sinister in that fog, but you don’t want to stick around to find out. Bought the vinyl so I summon the fog demons through spe showhornwithteeth
